How Many Prostadine a Day? The 2 mL Serving Explained

Quick answer

The info page gives one serving a day: 2 mL, or two droppers. A 2 fl oz (60 mL) bottle then lasts 30 days. Taking more does not add benefit that anyone has shown, and with four seaweeds and iodine in the formula, more could push iodine too high.

The basics01

What is the daily serving?

Two milliliters, once a day. That is two droppers, using the dropper supplied with the bottle.

The bottle holds 60 mL. Divide 60 by 2 and you get 30 days from one bottle. A two-bottle pack covers 60 days, three bottles cover 90 days and six bottles cover 180 days.

The seller does not say how many drops make up a milliliter, so do not count drops. Measure by volume.

The evidence02

What do the pack sizes mean in days and cost?

Pack size, days covered and cost per day at 2 mL a day
PackDaysPer bottlePer day
2 bottles60$79$2.63
3 bottles90$69$2.30
6 bottles180$49$1.63

These figures come from the order page, with the daily cost worked out from the 2 mL serving. The two-bottle pack carries a $9.99 shipping fee. See pricing for the full table.

The numbers03

Why not take more?

Because nobody has shown that a higher dose helps, and the formula carries a real ceiling.

The adult upper limit for iodine is 1,100 micrograms a day, and the American Thyroid Association advises against supplements giving more than 500 micrograms (NIH ODS, Iodine)(ATA, Excess iodine). Seaweeds range from 16 to 2,984 micrograms of iodine per gram (NIH ODS, Iodine). With four seaweeds and iodine itself in the bottle and no amounts printed, a double dose could take iodine well above where it should be, and nobody can calculate by how much.

Saw palmetto trials found no extra benefit even when the dose was tripled (NCCIH, Saw Palmetto). More is not better here.

The catch04

Do trials say anything about a safe daily dose?

For saw palmetto, the reference doses are 320 milligrams a day of extract in the 2006 NEJM trial and up to 960 milligrams in the later CAMUS trial, and neither beat placebo (Bent et al., NEJM 2006). For iodine, the safe ceiling is 1,100 micrograms (NIH ODS, Iodine). For the rest of the formula, nothing similar exists.

So a daily dose of 2 mL can be judged against only two numbers, and the bottle prints neither. That is why the serving is best seen as the seller's instruction, not a tested dose.

Safety05

What if you take less?

Some men start lower to see how they feel. The seller gives no lower dose, and nothing is known about one. If you are worried about your thyroid or medicines, the right move is to ask a clinician before starting, not to guess at a half dose.

If you forget a day, do not double the next one. Take the usual 2 mL and carry on. The how to use page covers missed days in more detail.

What to do06

What about the pack arithmetic?

Pack totals can confuse. The two-bottle offer is described as 2 plus 1 and the six-bottle offer as 3 plus 3 on the order page, and it is not clear whether the free bottles are in addition to the number you pay for. Confirm the bottle count at checkout before you rely on the days-per-pack figures.

If a pack gives you more bottles than the headline, your supply lasts longer than the table says, and the cost per day falls. If it does not, the table holds. Either way, the dose stays 2 mL a day.

Questions to ask the seller

The most useful question is what a 2 mL serving contains. Ask for the Supplement Facts panel in writing, including iodine in micrograms per serving. With that, a doctor can say whether the dose fits your thyroid, your age and your medicines.

Never double up

If you miss a day, take the usual serving next time. Extra doses add iodine and have no shown benefit.

FAQ08

Prostadine questions people ask

Can I take two bottles of Prostadine at once?

No. The info page gives one 2 mL serving a day. Using bottles together to take more adds iodine and has no shown benefit. A second bottle is for the next 30 days.

How many drops are in 2 mL of Prostadine?

The seller does not say. Droppers vary, so do not count drops. Fill the supplied dropper twice, as the info page directs, and take the 2 mL in one serving.

How long does one bottle of Prostadine last?

Thirty days at 2 mL a day. The bottle is 2 fl oz, or 60 mL. A six-bottle pack therefore covers about 180 days.

Is a higher dose of saw palmetto more effective?

Not in the trials we cite. NIH-funded studies tested up to three times the usual dose and found no symptom improvement. The amount in this formula is not printed.
