From the info page (Prostadine info page), which lists nine ingredients with no amounts and no Supplement Facts panel. The order shown is the info page order, not a weight order.
The list comes from the brand's info page, not from a label, because the bottle photographs show no Supplement Facts panel. The info page gives each line two short benefit statements and no amount. Where the order of a real panel would tell you which ingredient is largest, this order tells you only how the web page was written.
Evidence at a glance02
What was found for each line
The table sets each line beside the amount used in research and the strength of the evidence. The product amount column is blank on purpose.
| Ingredient line | Place | Amount in the product | Amount used in research | Evidence |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Nori Yaki Extract Powder | 1 of 9 | Not printed | Dried nori: 116 mcg iodine in 5 g (2 tbsp flakes) (NIH ODS, Iodine) | No human trial for prostate or urinary use found |
| Wakame Extract | 2 of 9 | Not printed | No studied dose found (NIH ODS, Iodine) | No human trial for bladder use found |
| Kelp Powder | 3 of 9 | Not printed | Kelp supplements can hold several thousand times the 1,100 mcg upper limit (ATA, Excess iodine) (NIH ODS, Iodine) | No human trial for urine flow found |
| Bladderwrack Powder | 4 of 9 | Not printed | No studied dose found (MSK, Bladder wrack) (ATA, Excess iodine) | Claims of benefit not confirmed in clinical studies (MSKCC) |
| Saw Palmetto | 5 of 9 | Not printed | Trials used about 320 mg a day of berry extract (e.g. 160 mg twice a day) (Cochrane review, saw palmetto 2023) (NCCIH, Saw Palmetto) (MSK, Saw Palmetto) (Bent et al., NEJM 2006) | Little or no benefit for urinary symptoms (Cochrane 2023, 27 trials) |
| Pomegranate Extract | 6 of 9 | Not printed | 8 oz of juice a day was used in a long safety follow-up; extract trials differ (MSK, Pomegranate) | Conflicting results on PSA; preliminary signals on erections |
| Iodine | 7 of 9 | Not printed | RDA 150 mcg a day; upper limit 1,100 mcg a day (adult men) (NIH ODS, Iodine) (ATA, Excess iodine) | Essential for the thyroid; no prostate trial found |
| Shilajit | 8 of 9 | Not printed | One small trial used 250 mg twice a day of purified shilajit for 90 days (Pandit et al., Andrologia 2016) | One small trial on testosterone; nothing on the prostate |
| Neem | 9 of 9 | Not printed | No studied dose found (MSK, Neem) | Studies on safety and effectiveness are lacking (MSKCC) |
Two rows stand out. Saw palmetto is the only line with trials big enough to count, and they were mostly negative (Cochrane review, saw palmetto 2023). Iodine is the only line with a hard safety limit (NIH ODS, Iodine). Everything else in the table reads “not established” or “lacking”, which is a statement about the research, not about the ingredients being harmful.

Why the combination matters more than any one line
A formula is more than a list. Five of the nine lines are iodine sources, so the safety question is about the sum. Two lines have blood-related cautions: saw palmetto may add to bleeding risk with blood thinners (MSK, Saw Palmetto), and pomegranate has a case report with warfarin (MSK, Pomegranate). Neem has enzyme findings in the laboratory that matter for medicines (MSK, Neem).
A formula can also be lopsided. If a blend lists nine lines and one dominates the weight, the others may be present as a small token. US rules let a maker group ingredients in a proprietary blend, but they still require the blend total and a descending order by weight (21 CFR 101.36 (eCFR)), which sets a ceiling on each line. The label page has a calculator for it, and the side effects page covers who should ask a clinician.

- To check iodine in detail, read iodine and thyroid.
- To check medicines you take, use supplements and prostate medicines.
- Serenoa repens for the treatment of lower urinary tract symptoms due to benign prostatic enlargement. Franco JVA, Trivisonno L, Sgarbossa NJ, et al. (Cochrane Database Syst Rev, CD001423), 2023.Published 22 June 2023, searched to September 2022: 27 randomized trials with 4,656 men (19 saw palmetto alone versus placebo, 8 combination herbal products). Saw palmetto alone provides little to no benefit for men with lower urinary tract symptoms from benign prostatic enlargement; adverse events were about the same as placebo. The review is less certain about combination products.
- Iodine: Fact Sheet for Health Professionals. NIH Office of Dietary Supplements, 2024.RDA for adults is 150 mcg a day; the tolerable upper intake level is 1,100 mcg a day. Dried nori, 2 tablespoons of flakes (5 g): 116 mcg. Seaweeds range from 16 to 2,984 mcg per gram. High intakes can cause goiter, elevated TSH and hypothyroidism, and iodine-induced hyperthyroidism and thyroiditis. Interactions: antithyroid drugs (additive effect, hypothyroidism), and potassium iodide with ACE inhibitors or potassium-sparing diuretics (hyperkalemia risk).
- 21 CFR 101.36 - Nutrition labeling of dietary supplements. U.S. Code of Federal Regulations (eCFR), 2026.Under paragraph (c), a supplement may list a 'Proprietary Blend' with the total weight of the blend and its ingredients listed in descending order of predominance by weight. So a line in place k of n cannot hold more than the blend total divided by k.
FAQ06
Prostadine questions people ask
What are the ingredients in Prostadine?
The info page lists nine: Nori Yaki Extract Powder, Wakame Extract, Kelp Powder, Bladderwrack Powder, Saw Palmetto, Pomegranate Extract, Iodine, Shilajit and Neem. No amounts are printed in any image or page we have.
Are the ingredients listed by amount?
Not verifiably. The info page order is a web page order, not a Supplement Facts panel. US rules require a descending order by weight only inside a blend on a real panel (21 CFR 101.36 (eCFR)).
Which Prostadine ingredient has the most research?
Saw palmetto. A 2023 Cochrane review pooled 27 trials and found little to no benefit for urinary symptoms (Cochrane review, saw palmetto 2023). The other eight have far less human research on the claims made.
Does Prostadine contain a lot of iodine?
Unknown. Four seaweeds and iodine itself are listed, but no amount is printed. The adult upper limit is 1,100 mcg a day (NIH ODS, Iodine).
