Prostadine Supplement Facts: What the Bottle Label Shows

Quick answer

The Prostadine bottle is a 2 fl oz (60 mL) dietary supplement with a Prostate Complex band.

The front shows three ticked lines and an iodine tile. The nine ingredient names come from the brand's info page, and amounts are not printed in the photos.

Word for word01

Everything readable on or about the bottle

The label wins over the brief and the sales page. This is what the label images actually show.

The bottle is amber glass with a black rubber dropper cap and a navy label. The name PROSTADINE sits in cream capitals, under it a pale-blue band reads PROSTATE COMPLEX, and three ticked lines follow. At the bottom are the size and the words dietary supplement.

A tour of the bottle02

Tap the bottle: what each part is

Tap a number to read that part of the bottle.

  1. Dropper cap

A black rubber bulb on a glass pipette. The info page says to fill it twice for one serving: two full droppers (2 ml).

  2. Amber glass

Dark amber glass, which blocks light. The bottle holds 2 fl. oz (60 mL), printed on the label.

  3. Name

PROSTADINE in cream capitals on a navy label: the product name, not a claim.

  4. Prostate Complex

A pale-blue band under the name. 'Complex' is a marketing word for a blend, not a measured amount.

  5. Normal prostate function

First ticked line. Structure/function wording that the FDA has not evaluated.

  6. Healthy urinary system

Second ticked line, same status: not evaluated by the FDA, not a claim to treat anything.

  7. Bladder control support

Third ticked line. No trial of the product backs it, and a doctor should look at bladder problems.

  8. 2 fl. oz (60 mL)

The bottle size. At two droppers (2 mL) a day, 60 mL is 30 servings.

  9. Dietary Supplement

The product category: a supplement, not a drug. Supplements are not FDA-approved before sale.

  10. Iodine tile

A periodic-table style tile: 53, I, Iodine. Iodine is a listed ingredient, and four more lines are seaweeds that carry iodine.

What is missing03

The panel a buyer is entitled to see

In the United States a dietary supplement label carries a Supplement Facts panel. It lists the serving size, the servings per container and, for each ingredient, the amount per serving and often a percent of the Daily Value. The FDA does not approve supplements before they are sold (FDA, Using Dietary Supplements), so the panel is the buyer's main protection and the first thing to check.

None of the label photographs we were given shows that panel. We do not say the real bottle lacks one. We say these images do not show it, so nothing about amounts can be stated from them, and the info page, which names the ingredients, prints no amounts either.

A useful trick04

If your bottle shows a blend total, the ceiling for each line

Many supplements hide individual amounts inside a proprietary blend. The rules still require the blend's total weight and its ingredients in descending order of predominance by weight (21 CFR 101.36 (eCFR)). From that you can calculate a ceiling: a line in place k of a blend cannot weigh more than the total divided by k.

Ceiling per line: the line in place k can hold at most total divided by k (21 CFR 101.36 (eCFR)). The example starts at 1,000 mg.
PlaceInfo-page lineAt most, per serving
1Nori Yaki Extract Powderat most 111 mg
2Wakame Extractat most 111 mg
3Kelp Powderat most 111 mg
4Bladderwrack Powderat most 111 mg
5Saw Palmettoat most 111 mg
6Pomegranate Extractat most 111 mg
7Iodineat most 111 mg
8Shilajitat most 111 mg
9Neemat most 111 mg

Example only: no blend total is printed in any image we have, and the info-page order may not be the panel order. A ceiling is the most a line could hold, not the amount in the bottle.

Use it with your own bottle's total. Remember that the ceiling is a maximum, not an estimate. The ninth ingredient can never exceed one ninth of the blend, which may be very little, and the first can be almost all of it.

What to ask05

Five things to ask the seller in writing

  1. Send a photo of the full label

Ask for a clear photo of the Supplement Facts panel and the other ingredients line on the bottle you will receive.

  2. Ask for the iodine per serving

Four seaweeds and iodine itself share the formula. The total in micrograms is the one number your thyroid cares about (NIH ODS, Iodine).

  3. Ask for the saw palmetto amount

Trials used about 320 mg a day (Bent et al., NEJM 2006). Compare the printed number.

  4. Ask who makes it

Request the manufacturer's name and address, and the lot number for your batch.

  5. Keep the reply

Save the email with your order record. It supports a refund request if the answer does not match the product.

Orders and questions about an order go to the desk on the contact page. The website inbox cannot see orders.

  1. Saw Palmetto for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia. Bent S, Kane C, Shinohara K, et al. (N Engl J Med 354:557-566); with Barry MJ et al., JAMA 2011;306:1344-1351, 2006.The publisher page could not be loaded for this review, so this entry rests on the published abstracts. NEJM 2006: 225 men aged 50 or older, one year, 160 mg of saw palmetto extract twice a day (320 mg a day) versus placebo, no difference in the AUA Symptom Index. JAMA 2011 (CAMUS): 369 men, 72 weeks, 320 mg a day raised stepwise to 960 mg, no better than placebo. These are the usual reference doses for saw palmetto research.
  2. Iodine: Fact Sheet for Health Professionals. NIH Office of Dietary Supplements, 2024.RDA for adults is 150 mcg a day; the tolerable upper intake level is 1,100 mcg a day. Dried nori, 2 tablespoons of flakes (5 g): 116 mcg. Seaweeds range from 16 to 2,984 mcg per gram. High intakes can cause goiter, elevated TSH and hypothyroidism, and iodine-induced hyperthyroidism and thyroiditis. Interactions: antithyroid drugs (additive effect, hypothyroidism), and potassium iodide with ACE inhibitors or potassium-sparing diuretics (hyperkalemia risk).
  3. Information for Consumers on Using Dietary Supplements. U.S. Food and Drug Administration, 2026.FDA is not authorized to approve dietary supplements for safety and effectiveness before they are marketed. Firms can lawfully introduce supplements without notifying FDA. Talk to a doctor, pharmacist or other professional before buying or using a supplement.
  4. 21 CFR 101.36 - Nutrition labeling of dietary supplements. U.S. Code of Federal Regulations (eCFR), 2026.Under paragraph (c), a supplement may list a 'Proprietary Blend' with the total weight of the blend and its ingredients listed in descending order of predominance by weight. So a line in place k of n cannot hold more than the blend total divided by k.

FAQ06

PROSTADINE, a band reading PROSTATE COMPLEX, three ticked lines (normal prostate function, healthy urinary system, bladder control support), 2 fl. oz (60 mL), dietary supplement and an iodine tile.

What is a proprietary blend?

A grouping of ingredients under one total weight, without individual amounts. US rules still require the total and a descending order by weight (21 CFR 101.36 (eCFR)).

How many servings are in a bottle?

At the info page dose of 2 mL a day, a 60 mL bottle holds 30 servings. No servings line is visible in the label images.
