Prostadine Lot and Certificate Numbers Explained
The seller supplied a lot reference, PRO-26 / PR-2341, and a certificate of analysis reference, PRO-2341-26-PR. Neither appears on any label image we hold, and we have not seen the certificate. A reference number is a pointer to a document, and the document is what proves anything.

The basics01
What did the seller give us?
Two references: a lot code, PRO-26 / PR-2341, and a certificate of analysis code, PRO-2341-26-PR.
A lot code identifies a batch, so that the maker can trace where it was made and which bottles it went into. A certificate of analysis, or CoA, is the laboratory report on that batch.
Neither number is visible on the bottle images we hold. The certificate itself was not shown. So at present we hold two labels for documents, and neither document.
The evidence02
What each item can and cannot prove
| Item | Proves | Does not prove |
|---|---|---|
| Lot code on the bottle | Which batch your bottle came from | That the batch was tested |
| CoA reference number | A document is said to exist | What it says |
| The CoA document | Measured contents of one lot | That all lots match |
| Third-party seal | Independent test program | That every batch passes |
The numbers03
What should a certificate of analysis show?
- The laboratory name, address and accreditation.
- The product name and lot code, matching your bottle.
- The test date and method for each result.
- Identity checks for each ingredient.
- Iodine in micrograms per serving.
- Lead, arsenic, cadmium and mercury results against stated limits.
- Microbial counts.
A certificate with only a pass stamp and no numbers is not a CoA in a useful sense. The FDA expects makers to verify identity, purity, strength and composition, and a buyer is entitled to ask for what that verification found (FDA, Using Dietary Supplements).
The catch04
How do you match a lot to your bottle?
Find the code
Look on the bottle base, the label edge or the carton for a lot number and an expiry date.
Write it down
Take a clear photo so you have a record.
Ask for the certificate
Send the seller the lot code and ask for the matching CoA.
Compare
The lot code on the certificate should be the same as on your bottle.
Safety05
What if the lot code is not on the bottle?
Then you cannot tie your bottle to any certificate, and any reference given to you is unconnected. Ask the seller where the lot code is printed. If a seller cannot say, treat it as a gap in traceability and weigh it in your decision.
Our batch verify page gives a script for the request and a place to record the reply.
What to do06
What are the limits of a certificate?
A certificate shows one sample from one lot on one day. It does not guarantee that every bottle matches, and it cannot show that the next lot will. A good maker tests each lot, and a buyer can ask to see the one that matches the bottle in hand.
Certificates can also be out of date, edited or copied from another product. Check that the lab is real, that it has a website and a phone number, and that the report names the product and the lot exactly. A lab that cannot be found is a warning sign.
Some makers publish certificates on their site by lot code, so a buyer can look theirs up without asking. If the seller will set up such a lookup, it is a strong sign of confidence in the product.
On the label07
Why is traceability worth caring about?
If a batch has a problem, a recall can only reach buyers if the lot can be traced to them. A bottle with no lot code is a bottle that cannot be recalled by batch. For a liquid made with seaweed, the iodine and metals can vary between batches, so a batch-specific certificate is the only real check (NIH ODS, Iodine).
In practice08
What we will do with the numbers
We list the two references in our README for the seller to confirm, and we state on the testing page that neither has been seen on a label. If a certificate arrives, we will read it, report what it covers and update our pages.
FAQ09
Prostadine questions people ask
Where is the lot number on a Prostadine bottle?
It is not visible in the label images we hold. Check the bottle base, label edge and carton, and ask the seller where it is printed.
What would a lot certificate show?
A laboratory report on a specific batch, showing what was tested, by what method and the results. It should name the lab and match your bottle's lot code.
Does a lot code mean the product is tested?
No. It only identifies a batch. A matching certificate with real results is what shows testing.
What is a bad sign on a certificate?
No lab name, no lot code, no numbers, or a lot that does not match your bottle. A stamp saying passed without data is not a useful certificate.
